Beltari is designed with your privacy in mind. Here is what you should know.

What Data the App Accesses

Camera — Used solely as a viewfinder to help you aim at the night sky. No photos or videos are captured, stored, or transmitted.
Location — Your GPS coordinates are used on-device to calculate which stars and planets are visible from your position. Your location is never stored beyond the current session and is never transmitted to any server.
Motion sensors (gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer) — Used on-device to determine where your phone is pointing so the correct stars can be displayed. This data is never stored or transmitted.

What Data We Collect

Beltari collects a small amount of anonymous usage data to understand which features are used and to improve the app. This is limited to product-interaction events — for example, which screen is opened or which visual style is selected. It contains no personal information: no name, no email, no user account, no advertising identifier (IDFA), and no precise location. The data is not tied to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. We never sell it. Beltari has no user accounts and shows no ads.

Third-Party Services

For the anonymous usage analytics described above, Beltari uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not collect personal data. No other third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks, or APIs are used. All star and planet calculations are performed entirely on your device.

Data Retention

Camera, location, and motion data are never retained between sessions — each time you capture a star map, that orientation data exists only in memory for the duration of that viewing session. Anonymous usage events are queued on your device and sent to TelemetryDeck in batches; once received, they are retained only in anonymized, aggregate form and are never linked back to you.

Children's Privacy

Beltari collects no personal data from any user, including children. The anonymous usage analytics described above contain no personal information and are not used for tracking.
